From the Principal's Desk - 2017
Welcome back to the 2017 -18 school year! We are off to a great start at Jefferson. I would like to thank everyone, who attended our open house on August 14th. It was really neat to see the excite-ment on both the students and parents faces. I would also like to add a special Thank you to par-ents for helping us collect the forms that we sent home on the first day of school (Parent/Student Compact, Parent Acknowledgement Student Information Form and the Health update forms)
Jefferson is a Title 1 School, which means that each year we must make an effort to get parent input as we create opportunities for our children. During our PTO meeting August 31st @ 6:00 in the Li-brary we will review our school accountability report, which I presented to the District Leadership Team last May. At that time, we will also review Jefferson’s school wide plan for improvement and review the school compact.
Our building goals for the 2017 – 18 school year are:
1. To improve and sustain math outcomes
2. To improve student engagement through positive partnerships and relationships
3. To improve reading outcomes.
As we start this school year off, I am reminded how very lucky we are to have the support of such kind, caring and considerate families. Thanks for all of your efforts - I am looking forward to a GREAT school year!
Mr. John Byrn
