Parents Encouraging Parents - PEP
Are you a Nebraska parent of a child with special needs? Then this conference is for you! Parents Encouraging Parents (Parents Encouraging Parents - PEP)
PEP is a unique, statewide conference sponsored and funded by the Nebraska Department of Education, Special Education Office (NDE), in collaboration with the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council, school districts and parents of children with disabilities. PEP will be held on March 16 -18, 2017, at the Younes Conference Center, Kearney, NE.
Participants in the PEP Conference are Nebraska parents who are raising a child with a verified disability. The child must be enrolled in a Nebraska school district and have an active IFSP/IEP. At PEP participants will gain information about (1) parenting and educating children with disabilities; (2) how parents can work collaboratively with the professionals who are educating and supporting their children to create positive parent-school partnerships. Parents will also have opportunities to share their feelings and experiences and network with others. Ten spaces for education professionals who serve children with disabilities in Nebraska public school also are available.
