The NP Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the REACH Grants that have been selected for funding this spring. These programs represent innovative learning and enrichment of current curriculum. The list of funded programs is attached to this email. Congratulations to those educators that will be inspiring our students with these new programs.
This was the largest pool of requests that have been considered with over 35 educators involved in the requests. Total awarded this spring was $9,069 bringing the total for the 2009-2010 school year to $17,174.
The program, since it funded the first REACH Grant in 1998, has put $132,690 in to the hands of our teachers to supplement curriculum and engage students in ways that were not possible in the school budget. This amount, however, represents 44% of the funding requests. REACH Grants have had an impact in every school in the entire school district at every grade level.
REACH Grants fund requests from teachers within the North Platte Public School district that want to bring innovative learning strategies to our students that are outside of the school budget. These programs are developed and implemented by the teachers that apply for the assistance. REACH Grants are funded through gifts made to the North Platte Public Schools Foundation by people interested in making a difference in education for the youth of our community. Gifts to support this learning can be made at any time to North Platte Public Schools Foundation, PO Box 1557, North Platte NE 69103 or through our website at www.nppsf.org.
