Guest passes for the MORP Dance are now available in the office. Permits must be turned in to Mrs. Reinert by the close of the day on Thursday, March 18th. Anyone not enrolled at NPHS must be on the guest permit list. No one age 21 or over, or students 8th grade or lower are allowed as guests.
There will be a SkillsUSA meeting in room 1722, Friday at 7:30am and 3:30pm about the State Conference in Columbus. Those attending the State Conference need to attend one of the meetings.
FBLA Announcement--The next FBLA Meeting will be Monday, March 22nd at 6:45pm in the Media Center. Students who are a guest of a paid member are welcome to attend.
Students wishing to take the AP exams may now sign-up in the Activities Office. The fee is $86.00 per exam and checks should be made payable to NPHS for the exact amount. The testing schedule is as follows: Monday, May 3 8:00 a.m. U.S. Government and Politics

The Annual Talent Show is coming! We are looking for all types of talent. Battle of the Bands too! Sign up in Mrs. Marsh's room 1616.
Attention budding film makers and actors. The 3rd Annual NPHS Film Festival will be held Thursday, April 8th. NPHS Student Council would like to invite those NPHS students interested in producing a film for the festival need to come to Mr. Livingston' room 1407 to pick up film festival rules and an entry application. All entries must be turned in by Monday, March 29th for judging. Films will be shown and winners announced at the film festival on April 8th.

University of Wyoming – Engineering Summer Program – The College of Engineering and Applied Science offers high school juniors an opportunity to participate in a summer program of hands-on experiences in various engineering fields. The program will expand your horizons, develop your creative thinking and problem solving skills, and challenge your imagination. This program is June 13th – June 19th and the total cost to each participant is a $75 activity fee. The application deadline is March 26, 2010. Bryan LGH College of Health Sciences – Exploration Day - On March 27, 2010, the Bryan LGH College of Health Sciences and the Bryan LGH Foundation invite students and their families to attend a fall Exploration Day. This Exploration Day offers students the opportunity to learn more about all of our undergraduate and graduate majors, tour campus, learn about financial aid, and visit with current students. In addition, students will see how we utilize simulation in all of our programs to provide greater experience to students prior to clinical. UNL College of Agriculture – Career Exploration: Architecture, Landscape Arch and Interior Design – This workshop will be held June 13th – June 19th and is for high school students interested in exploring careers in architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. The fee for this week long program is $585 per participant. This includes studio supplies, program fees, meals and lodging. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Registration and payment is due by April 9, 2010.
Junior Law Cadet Program - High school juniors are invited to participate in this program if they are in good health to permit active participation in daily calisthenics and a full schedule of activities related to a career in law enforcement. The 2010 program will be offered June 14-18(female)and June 21-25 (male). Applications are due by March 1st to the Counselors’ Office, and interviews will be conducted in April by American Legion sponsors.
UNL Big Red Summer Academic Camps 2010 – These career exploration camps are a chance to explore the UNL campus, meet people from across the state, spend time investigating an interest or potential career and have fun. These classes will be offered in June. Camps this year include Biological Science, Companion Animals, Culinary Arts and Food Science, Fashion Design, Filmmaking, Natural Resources, Unicameral youth Legislature, Veterinary Science and 3D Animation/Virtual World Creation. No refunds after May 1, 2010 and limited scholarships are available.
U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program – This program is available to high school seniors planning to enroll or a current college freshmen, sophomore or junior at an eligible four-year college or university participating in the U.S. Bank No Fee Education Loan Program. Students must enroll by September 2010 and be a United States citizen or be a permanent resident alien. Winners will be selected at random and will be notified by April 2010. Great Plains Regional Medical Center Job Shadowing Program – This program is open to students interested in nursing, radiology, dietary, laboratory, physical therapy, respiratory therapy or anesthesiology. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Education Quest – Financial Literacy Online Program – This is a free, comprehensive and convenient online learning center that teaches students the basics of personal money management. NSLP is partnering with EducationQuest to administer monthly drawings in which Nebraska high school juniors and seniors who complete a Financial Literacy Online course can win one of 26 $500 college scholarships. To enter, a student must successfully complete at least one course on NSLP’s Financial Literacy Online program between November 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010. Students who complete more than one course will receive additional entries for each course successfully completed. There is no purchase necessary. Students simply visit www.nslpflonline.org/nebraska to register and begin taking courses.
Chadron State College – Geoscience Program – Are you inquisitive? Enjoy solving problems? Do you like to work outdoors, to probe into the natural world or team with others to address complex issues? Geoscience may be your field. You should have a strong high school background with a special interest in the basic sciences and mathematics, and able to grasp and discuss scientific principals easily. Strong oral and written communication skills in English are necessary as well. If you are interested, the best place to start is www.csc.edu and click on “Visitors”, then “Request a Campus Visit.” A short form will get it all set up. The NPHS Ambassadors will assist with events at the North Platte Public Schools. They will serve as the official student representatives of the school and will serve in any capacity that the administration requests.
