 MRS. BROWN

What is your teaching history?

I have taught at North Platte since 2006-07.

What college degrees do you have?

I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in secondary Education from Chadron State College.  I am currently enrolled at Chadron as a graduate student studying Technology in Education.

What times are you typically available during the day?
Please keep in mind that events such as absences, meetings, etc. do occur (that's why the question says typically).

Monday - Friday:  7:30 – 8:00 am. , 3:26 - 4:00 p.m.

Why did you decide to enter the teaching profession?

I really enjoy students that are in high school. They are so interesting and they teach me so much as well, also, I really love to talk!

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

Talking with the students.  High School students have such new and fresh ideas, and they are so kind and forgiving.  I really love that about the students.

What is your favorite teaching moment?

My favorite teaching moment is when the student finally gets it.  At first the students look at me with a blank expression, because I’m teaching something they haven’t seen before.  As soon as they get it, wow, you can just see it on their faces.  I really like that look!

What is your favorite method of teaching?

I would have to say lecture, but I really enjoy working the problems out with the students.  They always catch me when I make mistakes, and it’s good to see everybody makes mistakes.
