How do I option my child in/out of North Platte?
A parent or legal guardian must fill out paperwork that can be picked up at either the resident school, option school, or the Nebraska Dept of Education. Between September 1 and March 15, parents must submit the application to the school district that they are wanting to option their child into. Applications submitted to the option district after March 15th must be signed by the resident school district. Students are always able to cancel an option transfer and return to their resident school district. However, students can only option out of their resident district one time to a different district unless the family moves, the option district merges with another district, or if the student completes all grades offered in the option district. All siblings must fill out separate applications.
