What can I do to get academic help for my child?
♦ Share your concerns with the classroom teacher. They can show you how your child is progressing compared to peers of the same age/grade level.
♦ Once concerns have been discussed, a referral may be made to the Student Assistance Team (SAT)
♦ A number of regular education intervention strategies may be tried with your child.
♦ Progress and response to the interventions will be monitored over time.
♦ If progress isn't sufficient, a Special Education referral may be made.
